Tax Words

If you have a job you're paid for
What you earn is called income
On the 15th day of April
You must give the government some

The government collects the taxes
To pay for things it must tend to
Roads and police, schools and parks
Are paid for with tax revenue

If you have got a dependant
Like a daughter or a son
You can subtract from your taxes
That is called a deduction

But you must pay all your taxes
Every last cent without fail
Paying less is called evasion
Do it and you'll go to jail
